Emergency plumbing.

A plumbing emergency starts with a practical question: is water still escaping, and can you stay safely clear of it? Our team is available 24/7 to discuss urgent plumbing problems. Tell us what is happening, whether the flow has stopped, and your ZIP code so we can confirm service options for your address.

Signs it’s time to arrange service

  • Water continues flowing from a pipe or connection
  • A fixture overflows when water is used elsewhere
  • Wastewater rises through floor drains or multiple fixtures
  • A plumbing failure leaves the property without usable water

Make safety the first decision

Stay out of standing water when electrical equipment, outlets or wiring may be involved. Never operate electrical switches or equipment while standing in water; ask the electric utility or a qualified electrician to address the hazard. If you suspect a gas leak, leave the area immediately and call 911 or your gas utility from a safe location away from the suspected leak.

For an ordinary water leak without those hazards, stop using the affected fixture. If its shutoff valve is clearly identified and safely reachable, closing it may limit further water loss. Do not enter an unsafe space, force a stuck valve or delay emergency assistance to find a plumbing control.

Explain the failure before discussing the repair

An overflowing toilet, a split supply pipe and wastewater rising through several drains need different responses. Describe where the water first appeared, whether it looks like clean supply water or wastewater, and which fixtures are affected. Mention any recent freezing weather, plumbing work or loss of water service without assuming that one event proves the cause.

Our plumbers assess the immediate source, how the affected section can be isolated and what access is needed. The first priority may be stopping the water; the permanent repair can then be explained with its scope, materials and any follow-up work. Ask whether diagnosis, after-hours attendance and cleanup are included in the proposed price.

Prepare a useful call without delaying it

Have your street address, ZIP code and a callback number ready. Say whether someone can provide safe access and whether the property is a house, rental unit, condominium or business. For a rental or shared building, notify the owner or property manager because isolation valves and responsibility for repairs may be shared.

Take photos only from a safe, dry position. Note when you noticed the problem and any steps already taken. A 24/7 service line does not establish an arrival time for every location, so confirm current scheduling and the expected next step during the call.

What should the quote cover?

Discuss the proposed diagnosis and scope before work starts. These questions help compare the complete job rather than a starting price.

Emergency plumbing questions

Should I call a plumber or emergency services first?

Call emergency services first when there is an immediate threat to life, suspected gas, fire or another dangerous condition. Keep away from potentially energized water. Once it is safe, a plumbing call can address the water or drainage failure.

Can you give an exact arrival time online?

Arrival depends on your address, the nature of the emergency and current scheduling. Call with your ZIP code for the available options and an arrival estimate if one can be provided.

Does turning off the water finish the repair?

No. Isolation can limit damage, but the failed pipe, fixture or connection still needs assessment. Ask which water supply can remain off safely and what must be repaired before normal use resumes.
